Turtle Sands
Transformation
NRMA Parks and Resorts recently acquired land in Mon Repos to create a world-class’ see and stay’ retreat, which combines relaxed beachside accommodation with turtle nesting tours. The challenge was to create a brand that represents turtles in a new way and stands out from the sea of turtle logos peppered along the coast of QLD.
Use colour and subtle, but distinct graphic treatments to carve out space in a crowded market.
The logo uses negative space and a subtle angle to give the impression of a turtle moving across the sand on its way to nest. This combined with a modern, organic feeling serif type creates a logo unlike any other in the region. The flexible brand graphic system was inspired by the pattern of a turtle shell and can be used in subtle and bold applications to add distinction to the brand.
