Brother was founded on the belief that there had to be a better way. We recognised the traditional agency model wasn’t offering enough value or impact and that a change was required.

To us that meant creating a place that offered a true understanding of our client’s business, honest partnership with accountability, greater flexibility and agility, and a meaningful difference with tangible outcomes.

Kurt Viertel

Co-founder & MD

Kurt’s advertising career spans as many decades as it does regions. He has worked as Managing Director of local and international advertising agencies including Clemenger BBDO Brisbane, Leo Burnett Singapore and Leo Burnett HCMC.

Piet Human

Co-founder & ECD

Recognised internationally for creativity and effectiveness, Piet has worked as a Copywriter and Creative Director for multinational agency networks across Australia, South East Asia and South Africa. Between 2008 and 2013, Piet was Executive Creative Director for Y&R Brisbane, taking the agency to many ‘Agency of the Year’ titles.

Tharina Haas

Senior Strategist

Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Tharina adds a wealth of strategic experience to the Brother team. In her 20 year career, she’s worked on many global brands at a number of multinational agencies.

Brad Gellweiler

Business Development Manager

Armed with a Bachelor of Business Management and Marketing from UQ, Mark Ritson’s Mini MBA and Columbia Business School’s Digital Strategies for Business, Brad is an experienced problem solver who unearths new opportunities for clients.

Allison Bradley

Operations Director

A true professional, Ali steers the day-to-day Brother operations. Ali uses her years of experience in managing multinational accounts and large scale productions to manage the output of the agency, supplier relationships and keeping productions on track. She’s continually improving systems and processes while keeping us all in line.

Lucy Flower

Client Services Director

A 15-year advertising career has seen Lucy build close strategic relationships with clients across a wide range of industries. Using clear communication, collaboration, honesty and integrity, she drives whole-of-business outcomes and delivers successful work on time, on budget.

Brother Co-Founder, Kurt Viertel, participates in the CEO sleepout to raise awareness and donations for Australians experiencing homelessness.

The Good Beer Co.

We partnered with the Brisbane-based social enterprise company to create the visual identity, logo and campaigns for three new beers that support marriage equality, marine conservation and animal welfare.
